Why have a bland EV Chargepoint with a cable draped over it, when you could have your own retro fuel pump cover like this one. There are some innovative Chargepoints out there that are made to look like retro petrol pumps however they carry a premium price - upwards of £2k.
If you have a bit of skill, you can do as I've done and make a retro looking cover for your EV chargepoint. This cost me a around £100 and is made mostly of plastic fascia & capping boards, embellished with a few stickers and topped with a light. There are no real skills involved, as long as you can use a saw, a screw driver and a can of spray paint, you should be able to make it yourself.

Instructions
The cover consists of four main parts: two sides, a top, and a removable front panel.
The two side panels and the top are fixed together and attached to the wall. The front panel is designed to slide into place and remain removable, giving you access to the EV chargepoint.
Create the front panel
1. Cut the 450mm Double fascia board (A) into two lengths. One 160cm and one 23cm - put the 23cm piece to one side, it will be used for the top of the pump whilst the larger piece will be the front of the pump. When cutting the fascia board across it's width, have the saw blade at a 45 degree angle, so that the cut creates a wedge shape along the length of the cut, as these two pieces will eventually rest together to create a 90 degree joint (see diagram under point 12)
2. Glue one of the pieces of double ended 450mm trim (C) to the bottom edge (ie not the 45 degree edge) of the 160cm double fascia boards
Create the side panels
3. Cut the 175mm Fascia board (B) into two lengths - each 156 cm. These will be the sides of your pump
4. Cut one of the 450mm double ended trim (C) into two 17.5 cm lengths. These will be the top and the bottom of the side wall
5. Glue one piece of this trim to the top and one piece to the bottom of the 156cm fascia board to square off the ends.
6. Repeat step 4 & 5 to create the other side of the pump
Assemble basic structure
7. Cut two 10cm lengths of the 90 degrees rigid trim (D). Glue these to the 17.5cm lengths of end cap trim on its inside edge
8. Glue the 23cm top panel onto this 90 degrees trim, again on its inside edge
9. Cut two 52cm lengths of the 90 degree rigid trim (D). Glue these at the base of the side walls to make the base a little more solid
10. Position the pump sides and pump top over your EV charge point on a solid, level surface (I used an old paving slab) and attach the sides to the wall. This will make the structure rigid. You will also need to cut a notch slot on the side that you want the EV cable to exit.
11. Cut two 140cm lengths of the 90 degrees rigid trim (D). Glue these to the long edge of each side wall, leaving an equal space at the top and bottom, and about a 1cm gap for the front panel to slot into. These will act as guide trims for fitting the front panel.
Fix front panel and decorate
12. Glue the last piece of the double ended 450mm trim (C) to the 45 degree edge of the 23cm top piece you put to one side at the start, leaving a gap of about 1cm from the 45 degree edge as this is the space the front panel of the pump will slot into. The important thing here is to ensure gap created by the trim allows for the front panels 45° cut and top panels 45° cut rest together at 90°.
13. Position the top of the front panel onto the front guide trims and slide it upwards so it fits snuggly under the top trim.
14. Spray paint the boards whatever colour you want (I sprayed my sides and top maroon red) and decorate with the stickers
15. Attach the globe to the wall above the pump

If everything has been done correctly, the front panel should be removable, slotting in at the top and fitting snug against the side guide slots.
A couple of other thoughts:
Re-enforce the glued sections by drilling holes on the glued sections and inserting nuts and bolts covered with Plastic screw caps (I).
Cover the dial sticker with a piece of perspex glued around the edges to give a more authentic look.
Add shelves inside for storage.
Add a Type 2 holster socket to the side of the pump to store the charging plug when not in use
