My Retirement Journey

Just before I turned 50, I started looking more seriously into retirement and the pensions I had which would help me achieve retirement. Like most I knew about the idea of retirement and that I would get there some day, but I didn't know when that might be, what amount I would get in retirement, or if it would be a basic, average or luxurious retirement (obviously I hoped for the later 😁).
So I started trying to understand what retirement would mean and how I might get there. I learnt a lot along the journey and there there were some bumps in the road - but I am very pleased with my retirement (I've been retired for 8 years now).
This blog is a write up of my journey and my recommendations for anyone looking to do the same. Each page is written in bite size chunks - around a 5 minute read - and I know from direct feedback from others, that after reading them you'll be much better place to understand what steps you might need to take on your own journey to retirement.

3. Choosing an IFA if indeed you need one
I must add these are my experiences and they have being written to try and share my experience so you can learn some tips and hopefully avoid some of the pitfalls I ran into. They are in no way considered to be advice, that's something you should speak to an advisor about 😁
